Our new Devonport centre is open! As of 1st of February this year, we’re officially servicing the North-West of Tasmania.
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve opened up a new centre in Devonport. We’ve decided to grow our services in the North-West to meet the growing needs of the community. Read on to learn more about our latest centre and the opportunities you can find there.
Giving you choice and control
As a long established disability support organisation, we’ve been providing supports in Tasmania for over 50 years. Ever growing, we offer accommodation and support services in several locations across North-Eastern and Southern Tasmania. We aim to help people with physical and intellectual disability to develop their independence. We do this through personalised activities, training programs and high-quality accommodation services.
Supporting Tasmanians in the North West
There’s been a real need for quality disability services on the north-west coast. Over the years, we’ve received countless requests to deliver services in this region. Requests have come from NDIS participants, their families and local organisations. That’s why we’ve decided to set up shop in Devonport, where we can meet these community needs directly. We’re here to give the people of Devonport and the surrounding area more choice and assistance with their disability supports, and to provide respite and assistance to families and carers.
Our new Devonport location
Formerly the Oakwood School, our Devonport centre now offers community access programs like living and life skills for adults. It also offers centre-based programs for groups of kids under the age of six, along with personal supports and transportation.
The new building is a huge space with fantastic facilities. The property has communal kitchen and dining areas, indoor and outdoor recreational spaces, as well as spaces for learning and relaxing. We also have a gym, men’s shed and a stage for performing.

More opportunities to come
By the end of 2020, the Devonport centre will also offer respite services. Here, we’ll provide safe and comfortable accommodation for people to stay for short-term breaks. By 2012, we’ll also have independent living units for NDIS participants that are accessing our daily support services. Exciting times are ahead.
